The successful applicant will have research interests that complement and extend current research in the Quaternary Environmental Change research group and will help us realise one or more of our stated research aims, namely:

1. To develop new records and models of ice sheet and ice stream processes and responses to climate, sea level change and ocean circulation from terrestrial and offshore investigations and numerical modeling.


2. To constrain the Late Quaternary melt history and dynamics of the polar ice sheets by combining field based evidence with modeling.


3. To establish new records and models of abrupt sea level change from active and passive coastal margins to better understand the associated hazards.


4. To develop new models of rapid environmental response during the Quaternary through the analysis of threshold and tipping point mechanisms.
