1. contributing to the coupling of the new version of the Louvain-la-Neuve sea ice model, LIM3 (www.climate.be/lim), with the Institut Pierre Simon Laplace (IPSL, Paris, France; www.ipsl.fr) climate general circulation model (CGCM),
2. participating to the validation of the coupled model, with focus on sea ice, and
3. quantifying the feedbacks related to sea ice in climate change projections performed with the coupled model.
This work will be done in close collaboration with IPSL. Frequent visits to this lab are expected.
The candidates should have a PhD in physical climatology, oceanography or marine glaciology. Expertise in conduct and/or analysis of CGCM simulations will be a plus.
The position is offered for about 2 years. The salary will be commensurate with experience according to the UCL rates.
Expected date for entry on duty: as soon as possible.
