Northumbria University has recently advertised two faculty/academic positions, a Reader in Remote Sensing and a Senior lecturer in Environmental Health or Environmental Science. For the Reader in Remote Sensing we would welcome applicants with research interests in cryospheric processes and cold environments. The Environmental Science post would suit a candidate with a strong geochemical background.
We would welcome applicants who can demonstrate research experience and leadership in an aspect of remote sensing that provides synergy with one or more of our current research interests in glaciers and ice sheets, snow hydrology, ecology, geo-hazards and river/landscape evolution. You will be expected to contribute to research and doctoral supervision as well as specialist teaching in an appropriate branch of the subject area. Previous engagement with consultancy or commercial outreach at the cutting edge of your subject would also be advantageous.
You must be able to demonstrate academic and/or professional credibility, research capability, have a proven commitment to innovative external engagement and be likely to be part of the School's Research Excellence Framework submission (to help build the School's national and international profile).
