We would like to draw your attention to a 4 year PhD project on "Hydrological transit time analysis: A tool to understand stream biogeochemical response to climate change".
The project is a collaboration between SLU in Sweden (Hjalmar Laudon and Kevin Bishop), Northern Rivers Institute in Aberdeen, Scotland (Doerthe Tetzlaff and Chris Soulsby) and University of Zurich, Switzerland (Jan Seibert). This PhD will be mainly based in Umea, Sweden, but research visits to Aberdeen are part of the PhD.
The purpose of the project is to develop new residence time models that will function across the boreal landscape.
The project will be based on a modelling approach where the translation of hydrological tracers in precipitation/snowmelt will be used to define transit times.
Applications, marked with ref no 3610/09, must have arrived at the Registrar of SLU, P.O. Box 7070, S- 750 07 Uppsala or
