The Munich Glaciology Group (MGG) offers two PhD positions within the project "Present and future runoff generation on debris covered glaciers in the upper Aksu catchment, China".

This project aims on quantifying ablation and melt water runoff on debris covered glaciers in northwest China.

The Geography Department of the Ludwig-Maximilians-University hosts one position focusing on hydrological modeling:

The second position is based at the Commission for Glaciology of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities. The successful candidate will investigate physical properties determining glacier melt on surfaces with supraglacial moraine and water bodies:
