The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary team studying the microbial biology of the cryosphere and atmosphere.  Required Qualifications:  Ph.D. or equivalent degree in microbiology or a related biological science.  Additional Qualifications Desired:  Evidence of effective oral and written communication skills in English; familiarity with Windows and Unix-based operating environments and molecular biological techniques.  Responsibilities:  performs research activities (microbial culturing, physiological analysis, radiosotope assays, microscopy, molecular biology, biochemistry analysis, and data interpretations); handles preparation of publications and proposals; manages lab environment.
