The Climate Change Institute (CCI) at the University of Maine has an immediate opening for a postdoctoral scientist to study the impacts of regional climate change. The successful applicant will join an effort to use regional climate models to assess probabilistic climate change focusing on the northeastern United States.
Candidates should have some experience running a Global Climate Model (GCM) and/or a Regional Climate Model (RCM), be literate in UNIX/Linux operating systems, a working knowledge of C, C++ and/or FORTRAN, and the ability to write proposals and translate results to the public. Candidates must have a PhD in atmospheric sciences, modeling, or any closely related field. Proposed start date is as soon as possible.
The initial appointment is for two years with a possible extension of one year depending on performance and continued external funding.
