The Department of Geography at the University of Sussex seeks a Chair in Climate Change. This appointment would provide excellent opportunities for collaboration in research and teaching on contemporary climate change in arctic and permafrost environments. The department seeks an outstanding research leader whose research focuses on bringing together the physical and social causes, manifestations, and consequences of climate change. The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with colleagues elsewhere in he University and also with the Institute of Development Studies. The successful candidate will also be able to assist the University with further appointments and academic developments including new Masters programs in climate change.

The position is slated to begin 1 October 2009.
